Joubert De Roubaix
Joubert studied Public Health at the Technicon Pretoria and a post degree in Epidemiology.
He was the Secretary of the Namibian legislative workgroup on Health Legislation in the early 90’s before become a consultant at the CSIR as a food quality and safety specialist.
After a joint workshop between CSIR and Campden he joins the first HACCP training that was presented in South Africa to become part of handful of people starting to consult and train HACCP in the industry.
In 2000, he moved to Africon Engineering as part of a multi-disciplinary team to start private Environmental Health services. From 2004 he became group technical manager for Astral Foods and will serve as chairman of the South African Poultry Association’s Technical Committee for more that six years.
After 4 years of international experience in the middle east as Technical Expert he joint LTL Group as Technical Manager.
He led quality teams in various aspects, including City Health, Red Meat abattoirs, Poultry and Food Processing. As a qualified auditor in ISO9000, ISO22000 FSSC and Health and Safety, he carries intensive knowledge on various audit systems and requirements and is a specialist in Microbiological risk and legal compliance.
