Coming from the Promotional Industry where I spent 11 years and had some Hospitality experience, Packaging was really an interesting choice to enter into. The relevance the Packaging Industry has on everyday life makes it an easy shift. I completed the One-year Diploma (Part -Time) with the Institute of Packaging in 2017 after being in the Packaging industry for a year, and passed the diploma (Cum Laude), was a National Finalist for the Assignment and was issued a Certificate of Recognition by the World Packaging Organization for same. Packaging is now more than an Industry I work in but has become something to educate everyone about in terms of sustainability and becoming part of a circular economy.

Nicola has 20 years of experience working in the sustainability field with a particular focus on adding value to the supply chain, sustainable food systems, food waste, alien vegetation and forestry, ocean plastic, packaging and green skills.
Activities include professional research, advising on and developing CSR strategy, assessing resource efficiency and optimisation of products and the supply chain, identifying added value, sectoral green skills, consumer use and consumption. I’ve an interest in drawing on evidence in a creative way to embed and facilitate both business and consumer-facing change, and how this change can bring added value to a business, sector or supply chain.
